Crime Fiction

One of our recent acquisitions is a private library of crime fiction. Approximately 20,000 books!

Think of a British or American crime fiction writer and we probably have some of their books. Many are authors you will have heard of, others you probably never knew existed. This library includes modern UK and American crime fiction, an extensive range of vintage crime fiction including from the Golden Age of mystery and a large collection of US cozy mystery paperbacks.

There are many first editions amongst this library but one of the most interesting is a collection of 23 volumes of the Strand Magazine from the 1890s - early 1900s which include the first publication of several of the Sherlock Holmes stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
